This is Fun: Honest Movie Theater Recap
Going to the movies is among my favorite ways to spend an evening. Still, it's definitely not without its downsides. Those ridiculous "pre-show entertainment" bits and annoying fellow moviegoers are probably towards the top of anyone's list of theater annoyances. The guys over at College Humor must feel the same way, if this video is any indication. Check it out below, it's pretty spot on.
Stephen Hawking to Humanity: "Colonise Space Before We F*** S*** Up"
Okay okay, so Stephen Hawking didn't quite use those exact words, but it would have been awesome if he did. Anyway, something that video games, movies, comics, and novels have all depicted now, according to renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking (via News.com.au), needs to happen for real; humanity needs to colonise space!
Cours Toujours: A Fun Short from La Station Animation
This short film has been up on YouTube for a while, but I only just came across it on SlashFilm. It's a very bizarre, yet very cool, little short film from Elise Garcette and Olivier Barré. The short was produced by La Station Animation.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Trailer - Graphic Novel Recreation
If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that you should avoid me at all costs lest you want your brain to be completely scrambled by my blatherings. The second thing you should know is that I have a total and utter fixation with Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. Youtuber, theMrblonde2010, recreated the trailer in a similar fashion to the frame-by-frame we posted earlier, and it looks pretty amazing. Where he or she found the time on their hands to find each image from the graphic novel is beyond me, but if you're a fan, check out the video after the break.
Rumor: Gearbox to take on Duke Nukem Forever
Okay, keep in mind that this is still totally unconfirmed by official entities... but Kotaku's sources claim that the near-legendary Duke Nukem Forever may have just found a new home. A good home at that, no less than Borderlands developer Gearbox Software.
TF2: Next Update will Add Trading, New Game Mode, 20 Items
Now that TF2 class has received its class-specific update, a lot of players have been wondering, what's next? Luckily for all of us, the answer is, a lot! PC Gamer got the news that Valve is planning an update within the next month (Valve time) that will introduce a whole load of new stuff, including, Item Trading! Woohoo!
Stream the Soundtrack and Score to Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Music plays heavily into both the comic and the film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, and it's no surprise that Edgar Wright put a lot of effort into both the score and soundtrack for his film. Lucky for all of us, you can now stream both in full at Spinner.
Fallout: New Vegas Casting Update
Matthew Perry, Felicia Day, Zachary Levi, Danny Trejo, Ron Perlman, Rene Auberjonois, Michael Dorn, John Doman, William Sadler, Kris Kristofferson and Wayne Newton. It reads like the all-star cast for some crazy sci-fi, action comedy film with a soundtrack from Mr. Vegas himself, Wayne Newton; but it's not, it's just the voice cast for Obsidian's upcoming Fallout: New Vegas.
Skyline Trailer: The New Film from the Strause Brothers
Skyline is the latest film from the Strause brothers, the guys behind Alien vs. Predator Requiem. Requiem was a terrible movie, enough to make you never want to see a Strause brothers film again. Which brings us to Skyline. Does it have enough about it to win over audiences?
The Avengers Film Gets a Start Date
If you needed any further confirmation that The Avengers movie is actually happening, Superhero Hype grabbed the scoop that Marvel plans to shoot the film in February 2011. Sounds good to me. Sadly, the film is still set for a release date of May 4, 2012; which seems really far off. Still, if it's as good as I'm hoping it'll be, it's worth the wait.
Batman: Arkham City Details In
Those of you interested in the follow up to Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Asylum, dubbed Arkham City, should rejoice as the first solid gameplay details for the new game have leaked online via some very friendly early subscribers to GameInformer.
Review: Bulkypix iPhone Games
Ed note: Bulkypix is one of the leading devlopers of iPhone and iPad games, and they were nice enough to share some of their wares with us. Our resident iPhone owner, Turdleneck, has put together his thoughts on the lot. The games were a bit too small for full reviews, so instead, this article will be a collection of mini-reviews on each of the individual titles. Enjoy!
Opinions on Starcraft II's Multiplayer
Oh StarCraft II, you are so full of surprises! Since Captain_Bang already explained all of the back-story and whatnot in his review of StarCraft II, I’ll just stick with the stuff he left out! For starters, I should mention that I do not generally enjoy the RTS genre that much. In the past, I have played a lot, but never really enjoyed playing them. Starcraft II is a little different and these differences might be why I actually enjoy the game.
CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Demo Released
Wait what?
