First Five Minutes of Boondock Saints II

The first five minutes of the much anticipated (at least by a zealous minority) followup to 1999's Boondock Saints has been released courtesy of IGN. It's loud, it's in your face, and it's corny as hell; so basically, everything people loved about the first film. Check it out after the break; the film is set for an October 30, 2009 limited release, strangely enough, only on the East and West coasts. Check out the official site to see if you happen to live near the 70 or so locations chosen. If you happen to live anywhere near the middle of America though, you can always try demanding it.

Review: Embryonic by The Flaming Lips

Or: That Cover is Equal Parts Amazing and Disgusting

The Flaming Lips have been rocking for over two decades now, and despite this, some of their most critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, such as At War With the Mystics and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, have only been released more recently. Their latest release, Embryonic, is no exception to this trend.

Nintendo to Release Another DSi

Stories are hitting the internet that Nintendo is planning on releasing ANOTHER version of the DS, particularly another version of the latest DSi. I guess when your product has sold over 100 million DS and DSi units worldwide you can do pretty much what you want with it.

Deal: 75% off STALKER

What a way to start the week off. Until November 2nd, GSC's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl will be available on Steam for only five bucks. The game is over 2-years old at this point, but I can attest that it still looks and plays great; a truly under-appreciated classic. With a deal this good, any of you out there who haven't given it a try yet really don't have much of an excuse. Just hop on over to Steam and pick it up, just in time for the release of the sequel in Q1 2010.

Shiny New Lego Universe Pics

I believe this is the first time I'm reporting on this game, mostly due to the fact that I was pretty convinced that this game is going to fail on an epic scale. To be fair, I'm still not convinced otherwise, but these recently released images are still kind of cool. According to the devs, this batch of images underlies the game's unsurprising theme of "the power of building and customization that is core to the LEGO Universe experience.

Let Them Sing it For You

"Let Them Sing it For You," is a website that allows you to type in your own lyrics, and the site will pull up words from a database of hundreds of songs to sing your lyrics. Its actually kind of difficult to explain, and is something that needs to be experienced to be understood. If you can't manage to kill at least a couple minutes on the site, then there's something seriously wrong with you. Follow this link to figure out what I'm talking about.

Underwater Action: New Bioshock 2 Trailer

Earlier today, a new trailer for the much anticipated Bioshock 2 emerged from the briny depths to bring us another helping of Big Daddy action. While it starts out atmospheric and creepy, with voice over narration from a yet-to-be-disclosed female character, things get heated pretty fast. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse at some new plasmids, new weapons, a new Big Daddy type and a bit of fighting with the Big Sister herself.

And we're back... sort of!

Hi guys, as you've probably noticed, we've been kind of offline for the past few days. As you've probably guessed, this was due mainly to a combination of voodoo magic, corporate sabotage, and a freak accident which somehow caused MySQL to uninstall itself and take our database with it.

Leakage: Left 4 Dead 2 Cinematic Trailer

Holy leaked video Batman! A Left 4 Dead 2 cinematic trailer has just been unearthed on the interwebs, and like anything out of Valve, it's damn good! Well animated, well written and epic as they come, this is one hell of a trailer if I do say so myself. L4D2 just might become the first games I've pre-ordered in a long, long time. Well played good sirs. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think. It's not as high quality as an official Valve release would be, but it's good enough for me.

New 'Holmes' Trailer Adds Some Action

A new Sherlock Holmes trailer has just debuted on the net, courtesy of TheMovieBox. While it's fairly similar to the previous trailers, it does contain some fun new bits of action and dialogue. And while I still have some serious reservations about it, my guess is still firmly in the zone of "helluva fun Holiday film." Sherlock Holmes is set for Christmas day, 2009. Trailer below, enjoy!

The Wolfman is so Hard Rock

While the first Wolfman trailer gave a pretty detailed outlining of the story of the upcoming film, this newest one seems more intent on showing Benicio del Toro gettin' his wolf on to hard rock. Not that there's anything wrong with that... it is a pretty awesome looking trailer. I'm personally still really on the fence about this one. Watch the trailer below and let me know what you think! The Wolfman is due out February 12, 2010.

Two-Day Deal: Assassin's Creed 75% Off

Ummm... thank God for Steam? Until Thursday, you can grab Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut for the low, low price of $5. That's right, that's a 75% reduction. Sweet Jesus! As with all Steam deals, it's available exclusively through them. So if you haven't already, this would be a great excuse to give it a try.

Review: Wet

Slice, Dice and Blow 'em Away

Bullet Time, more often known as slow motion, is a very popular effect. One could say that the effect has been overused due to the sheer number of films and games that utilize the technique. Nevertheless, Wet by Artificial Mind and Movement tries to bring a fresh new spin to the 3rd person shoot 'em up genre while still using the famous bullet time effect. This game was hyped promising a unique “retro feel,” the ability to shoot whenever, wherever you want and having a unique protagonist reminiscent of the Bride in Kill Bill. Does it live up to the hype, and more importantly, is it even worth checking out?

Circuitcast Episode 15 was Pirated

My mic was broken this past week (Omid may or may not have been responsible for that), but the show must go on! This week, Matt, Brendan and Omid hold a spirited discussion of Fox's new Family Guy special, Brutal Legend, DJ Tiesto's new album, TV season premieres and finally, Internet Piracy. Intro music this week is "Mr. Office Man" by Hawkins; outro music is "Don't Copy That 2" by MC Double Def DP. Again, if you or someone you know has some mad music skills, you can have your music featured on the podcast. As always, our itunes page is located here, and a link to directly download the file below.
