Review: Lost Magic
Can You Feel the Magic?

Back in 2004, the Nintendo DS was met with some mixed results. Generally positive, many, such as myself, were skeptical of how the touch screen, and later online, would be implemented. Flash forward two years, and the DS is well on in its life, and has claimed fair amount of success. Looking to capitalize on that success, an interesting title named Lost Magic emerged. But would it be met with rave reviews like the DS? Or would the spell it chose to cast fall flat?
Benjamin Button International Trailer
Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss

The international trailer for David Fincher's new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has just been released. While it doesn't have too much new footage, it is truly well put together and definitely my favorite so far. This film is, in my opinion, a shoo in for Oscar contention and should be one of the best releases this year. Based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, the film follows the life of a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. It stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Trailer after the jump, enjoy!

New Xbox Experience Drops

On Wednesday November 19, most Xbox 360 users turned on their machines to find an update waiting for them. This update was none other than the “New Xbox Experience” or NXE dashboard update.
I personally was able to sign on as soon as I arrived home on the 19th and download the update. I was surprised to see that the update literally took about 3 minutes to download and apply; I was half expecting my Xbox to internally combust. (Props to Microsoft for that one.)

Arkham Asylum Teases
Scary, aint it?

Eidos has just released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game is based on the comic book mythos rather than the films or television shows and focuses, obviously, on Gotham's infamous asylum. Developed by British studio Rocksteady Studios, Arkham Asylum is aiming to, well... make a Batman game that doesn't suck. Enjoy the trailer; it's short but it's hella atmospheric. Arkham Asylum is aiming for a 2009 release.
An Introduction to Twilight and Twatlight
"Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense." -Watchmen

So the Twilight movie is due to show in theaters November 21, and I’m expecting to see a renewal (and increase by way of new fans) of Twilight-related enthusiasm. So far I haven’t been disappointed; the premiere had a red carpet two blocks long and was packed with screaming fans. Sounds horrifying, right?
Coraline Trailer Released
and it look gooooooood!
Coraline, from the always entertaining mind of director Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach) and based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name. Based on both of their track records I think we can expect one twisted, hilarious romp through the darkest of minds in the lightest of fashions. Enjoy the trailer! The film will have a limited release on December 19th followed by the wide release on February 6th, 2009.

Flash Game of the Week #7
Mass Attack
Playing with balls

I never thought it was possible that a bunch of spherical weights and some pulleys would entertain me for hours, but Kbaum’s flash game Mass Attack does just that. How they managed to pull this off, I still fail to comprehend.
Review: Quantum of Solace
What is the expression? Damaged goods.

Quantum of Solace, sequel to 2006’s Casino Royale and the first Bond film to be a direct continuation of the previous, features Daniel Craig reprising his role as a revenge-hungry James Bond. Casino Royale was notable in that in broke many of the long-held traditions of Bond films and attempted to re-imagine the franchise. Its ambitious nature allowed it to go beyond the conventional boundaries of its predecessors and excel where they had not. Quantum of Solace, on the other hand, seems content to bank on the success of its predecessor and actually manages to dilute the new style significantly.
Review: Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

Once in a while, greatness is achieved. The sheer talent of Wayne Gretzky, the creation of penicillin, and the moving speeches of Martin Luther King are such proofs of greatness. While no video game can reach these levels by the standards of today, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga (M+L:SS) reached new heights in gaming in 2003. The finished product was magical, but not without its flaws.
Second Full Watchmen Trailer!
Who watches the Watchmen? We Do.

What's that I hear? Perhaps the sound of geek ecstasy? That can only mean one thing: Second Full Watchmen Trailer! Premiering with Quantum of Solace this weekend (somehow I missed it though), Snyder has come through with his promise of the next full length trailer. While I did not like it as much as the first one (The End is the Beginning is the End is just way to epic and fitting), this trailer still left my socks thoroughly rocked. Enjoy my friends!
Review: Gears of War 2
Or: Why You haven’t seen me on TF2 in a while…

Gears of War 2 is the hotly anticipated follow up to the system-defining Gears of War. What Halo was to the first Xbox, Gears of War is to the Xbox 360. Does this mean that you’ll have to switch back and forth between the main protagonist and a member of the opposing side every other chapter like in Halo 2? Er, not quite… read on.
