Rumor: Spider-Man Reboot Finds its Star? (Updated)
That's the word coming from HitFix today as they are exclusively reporting that Logan Lerman, star of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, is the first choice to play Spider-Man in the Sony Pictures reboot. HitFix are reporting that a source close to the production has told them that "Lerman is "almost 100% locked" but not in contract negotiations for the role yet".
Move, MotionPlus and Natal: Can't We All Just Get Along?
The whole motion controller war is one of the biggest things in gaming at the moment. No one could have predicted how much of a success the Nintendo Wii was going to be when it was launched and what impact it's new, more interactive style of gaming would have on the industry. For a while there, Sony and Microsoft felt that their 'superior' games and services would be enough to combat the Wii, but over time the realization came, “This thing is sticking around.” Enter the PlayStation Move, a very Wii-esque style of controller/movement based gaming, and Project Natal, the mysterious controller-less camera based device. They are part direct answer to the Wii and part pre-emptive action towards where the studios think gaming is going.
Matt's Rantbox: Spider-Man Re-Boot
Or: Is it Spelled "Reboot"? I’m Not Really Sure…
As you all have probably heard by now, Sony plans on re-booting its popular Spider-Man movie franchise (and if you haven’t heard, then shame on you). According to the press release, they plan on putting Peter Parker back in high school so he can grapple “with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.” Ugh.
This is Big: Spider-Man to be Re-Booted
After following the story yesterday from John Malkovich about his proposed role in the new Spiderman 4 film the shit has basically hit the fan today.
This is Embarrassing: Sony Puts Armored On PlayStation Network
That's right, the Nimrod Antal directed feature film, Armored, which I'm really interested in seeing given that Antal is directing the new Predator film, ended up on the PlayStation Network for download.
Matt's Rantbox: Playstation 3
Or: PeeEssTriple
I hope that everyone had a happy holiday, whatever it was that you celebrated, and more importantly I hope that you all received some sweet loot from your friends and family. I’m gonna tell you right now, I somehow managed to score a Playstation 3, and I was oh-so-excited when I first opened it. That excitement has… well, its waned a little bit.
PS3 Slim Confirmed, Price Cut Announced for Current PS3
Sony has confirmed the long rumored PS3 Slim at Gamescom 2009. It boasts many improvements over the PS3 including a 120 GB hard-drive, a 32% decrease in size, and 34% less power consumption than the previous models. The biggest surprise though was the price, costing $299 which would put it head to head with the Xbox 360. The only major drawback for the mainstream gamer is the lack of backwards compatability with the PS2, a price most gamers are likely willing to pay for the bigger hard-drive and smaller system.
