Stephen King writes a lot, like a lot a lot. He's released at least a work a year since pretty much... forever. His track record hasn't really suffered though, so I guess his releases are still a big deal. What's interesting about this latest novel is it has its own little trailer. Granted, it's really short, but it's still kind of cool to see for a book (unless in my incredible illiteracy, I have failed to notice this is a regular thing). The novel itself, which King apparently tried to unsuccessfully finish twice prior, follows a town which is suddenly and inexplicably trapped by an invisible force field by the government (didn't the Simpsons do this?). Also worth checking out is the viral campaign behind the book at the Under the Dome official site. Read on for an official synopsis and trailer.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as ‘the dome' comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. Dale Barbara, Iraq vet, teams up with a few intrepid citizens against the town's corrupt politician. But time, under the dome, is running out....

this has been kind of a growing trend with books (especially big New York Times Bestselling author type books). I think it started back in 2006 when someone recreated the entire first chapter for Michael Connelly's "Echo Park." Since then, quite a few books have had trailers (though I can't name any off the top of my head). Anyway, yeah...
