Paranormal Activity Gets a Comic?

While you might think that a horror film, especially one like Paranormal Activity, wouldn't quite lend itself to comic format, there are others who would disagree with you. Apple has teamed up with IDW Publishing to produce a comic application thing for the iPhone that continues the story of Paranormal Activity. Spoilers, more details, and opinion after the jump.

For those of you who have seen the movie, as you know, Katie ends up killing Micah (told you there would be spoilers) and the comic picks up right after the ending of the movie. The Demonologist, Dr. Johann Averys, mentioned in the film, finally shows up (a little too late) and begins his investigation into the couple's prediciment. This explains the full title of the comic, Paranormal Activity: The Search For Katie, A Case Study by Dr. Johann Averys DMN

Personally, the whole thing sounds like a bad idea. The movie had a lot of subtle horror that wouldn't quite translate to a comic, and aside from that, I don't really think there was much left to explore once the movie was over. Regardless, people will do anything to cash in on something popular, and so you can now read the comic, assuming you have a iPhone and 99 cents to spare.
