The Avengers Film Gets a Start Date

If you needed any further confirmation that The Avengers movie is actually happening, Superhero Hype grabbed the scoop that Marvel plans to shoot the film in February 2011. Sounds good to me. Sadly, the film is still set for a release date of May 4, 2012; which seems really far off. Still, if it's as good as I'm hoping it'll be, it's worth the wait.

Matt's Rantbox: Comic-Con 2010 Wrap-Up

Or: So What if I Skipped Days 2-4?

So, when you last heard from me on my experiences at Comic-Con, it was the end of Day 1 and I was a little bit peeved. Well, now that the Con is over, I’m sure that you’re dying to know whether my mood improved; and now that I’ve had a couple of days to look back on it, what I think of the Con as a whole. What? You’re Not? Well too bad.

Thor Trailer Leaked, Watch it While You Can!

The trailer for Marvel's Thor debuted in Hall H at Comic-Con last weekend, and while we're not really supposed to be able to... it's now available online for the rest of us to see. You're going to want to hurry though, as this probably won't last too long. Check it out below, courtesy of some anonymous leaker through Megavideo:

Cap and Thor Concept Art

Those of you lucky enough to be attending Comic Con may want to keep an eye out on the Marvel booth, as there's going to be some pretty cool artwork on sale. The comic book come film studio has just debuted two new concept images for their upcoming films Thor and Captain America, and the images will be available as a poster at the Marvel booth, although there's limited numbers available.

New Thor Photos Reveal Hall of Asgard, More Odin

Two new Thor images have been uncovered for fans of the upcoming film, or the rest of us interested, but still unconvinced. The first features the Hall of Asgard from an LA Times article, the second appears to be from a Comic-Con preview of some kind.

Thor's Gods Revealed!

Thor has assembled a pretty impressive cast and is on top of many most anticipated lists. A lot of this has to do with curiosity over how exactly Marvel will bring Asgard and its gods to life on the big screen. The LA Times have debuted a look at just how Marvel are planning on doing it and I cannot even begin to express how excited I am to finally see Anthony Hopkins as Odin. While Hopkins looks awesome in his godly armor, I'm a little surprised the LA Times have almost snuck in the exclusive release of the image, which contains Thor and Loki as well, in an article about Thor and Captain America getting the 3D treatment.

Leakage: Concept Images for Captain America and Thor

While these have yet to be officially verified, many are speculating that these sets of images, via Collider and AICN, are concept images for the upcoming Cap Ameria and Thor films. Check out both sets below.

Comic Book Movie Update: Thor, Cap, Green Lantern and The Shadow

A look at what's been happening in the world of comic book movies of late, with everything from concept art to new projects.

First Impressions: Marvel Event: Siege

Siege is the latest universe-expanding event from Marvel. It is a work that is supposedly seven years in the making, starting all the way back at Avengers: Disassembled. That was the last time Iron Man, Thor and Captain America were altogether on the same team. All events in between, like House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion and Dark Reign, have been leading up to this moment: Iron Man, Thor and (Steve Rogers) Captain America are coming back together.

Stuart Townsend Out, Joshua Dallas In, In Thor Shake-Up

There's a story, or a rumour depending on how you want to look at it, going the rounds right now that is saying that Stuart Townsend is out of Kenneth Brannagh's Thor. Townsend was meant to play the swashbuckling Fandral who is one of the Warriors Three, a group of Asgardian warriors and friends of the titular hero Thor, but is now supposedly off the movie.
