Comic Book Movies
Today is a surprisingly leaky day. Just hours after the first half of the X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer appeared online, we've found exactly 15 low quality seconds of the Guardians of the Galaxy sizzle reel. It's pretty terrible quality, and it's literally only the last 15 seconds of a 2-3 minute trailer; but if you're really kicking yourself for missing it at Comic-Con and D23 Expo, you can catch a pretty good look at Rocket Raccoon and a few of the Guardians below.
D23 Expo is behind us, and with it, some amazing footage debuts from upcoming Disney projects like Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Maleficent, and Muppets Most Wanted. Unfortunately, much like Comic-Con a month before, none of those clips are officially available online. On the bright side, Disney has offered up a small consolation prize in the form of videos of the presentations themselves.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy headed to good ol' London yesterday to shoot a few scenes on the city's Millennium Bridge. Luckily for those of us nowhere near that landmark, photographers were present to grab a few shots of the morning action. There's Nova Corps, there's aliens, and there's a lot of running. Check them out below.
Can Hollywood afford Hugh Jackman? The rumor mills began swirling after a quote dropped from a magazine that tends to puts sensationalism over substance. The publication insinuated that Hugh Jackman had been offered an obscene amount of money to return as Wolverine, and has been the cause of much speculation concerning the actor, the character, and by extension, the X-Men franchise.
Vin Diesel seems more and more likely to be playing a big role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Reports are circulating that Diesel is currently in negotiations for the role as the tree-man Groot, and earlier today, a strange and possibly accidental Facebook post by the actor only added to the speculation.
Considering the title is Batman vs Superman, it seems likely that the two caped heroes will be the major focus of the film. However, it's been more or less confirmed that Lex Luthor will also be featured in the Man of Steel sequel. While reports circulate about who will be stepping in as the new Batman, new rumors are also addressing which actor might be playing the villain.
Bryan Singer Drops New 'Days of Future Past' Details, Teases Quicksilver, Working on a Future 'Marvel Mash-Up'
Bryan Singer continues to tease the reveal of X-Men: Days of Future Past's Quicksilver. A new tweet reveals a photo from the set, captioned "The brightest set I've ever filmed on," and tantalizingly hashtagged "3600 frames per second.
Dane DeHaan, who'll play Harry Osborn in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2, has tweeted a new image from the film. It features Osborn looking rather suave in a black jacket, hanging out with Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. It's tough to tell from just one image, but the pair do look rather chummy. This seems in line with director Marc Webb's very vague comments that "if you pay attention to the second movie, you'll see hints of what's to come." We might not get a Goblin in this one, but it sure seems like Osborn will play a much bigger role in the stories to come.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson recently confirmed that he had spoken to Joss Whedon about potentially taking the part of Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The casting decision has not been made yet, and likely won't for quite a while, but that hasn't stopped him from talking about how he'd handle the role if he gets it.
A new poster for Thor: The Dark World has been released courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. If you were curious as to just how high-fantasy this film is going to be, I think the poster pretty succinctly answers that question. A new trailer is incoming in three days, which should give us a few more clues as to how this film plays into Marvel's Phase Two plans. In the meantime though, give that poster a look below.
