so I'm bored, and browsing around for good twitters, but I've noticed a lot of the time when Twitter is mentioned, there is a strong anti and pro reaction to it. Some people think that it's a horrible way to "keep in touch" with people, others don't like specific things about it such as interface, others think it's wonderful.

I personally like twitter; I find it amusing. As for the "too impersonal" thing, well I think it's a nice combo of a short blog and IM. like, you can be very self-centered/personal/shallow one post, very global the next. it's a nice outlet for those kinda amusing thoughts you have during the day that never get developed much.

Hahahaha nice comic. I find that there's a delicate balance between being humorous and borderline creepy (as described by the Penny Arcade comic). Yes, twitter is fun to use, but I don't like hearing every little thing you do >.>

I heard this on the radio today. "The follow option on twitter is like stalking someone, except without the part of sitting in a car on a rainy, cold night in front of somebody's house with a loaded gun in your lap"

yeah, kinda Shawshank.
but that overlooks that the person is offering this stuff up for you to "stalk" in the first place... stalking isn't mutual.

personally, I think the best use of twitter if to follow like "minor celebrities", eg writers or someone who runs a small online store you like. musicians aren't bad to follow either.

but yeah, Oprah has joined twitter.

As you might have heard from facebook, 8th has a twitter now! @the8thcircuit
so follow us! it's your excuse to get twitter!

here's some lists if you want to find some more people to follow:
-food vendors
-movie studios on twitter
-comic book related twitters
(btw, Warren Ellis is the infallible answer to "twitter is stupid; why are you on it?")
-literature people / authors from mashable
(mashable has a lot of other twitter related lists too)
