'Deadpool' Movie Director is Ready to Move Forward, Waiting on Fox
Let's be honest, it has been way to long since we've heard anything about the Deadpool movie. The last update we got, attached director Tim Miller had shot some test footage for the film. Since then, it's been dead silence, leading many to presume that the test footage led nowhere and the film was canned. Luckily, it looks like there might be some hope after all.
Tim Miller is currently hard at work promoting his company's Kickstarter page for a David Fincher led adaptation of The Goon. However, he's still ready to go on Deadpool.
"We've turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that I'm confident would get the fans stoked," the director told SuperHeroHype. "And Ryan still loves the project. So it's really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens -- all I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead."
The film is set to have Ryan Reynolds "reprise" his role from X-Men Origins, although the current rumors are that this film will be standalone.
My big hope is that Miller, Blur, Reynolds, and crew will pull a Tron Legacy, and bring the polished test footage to Comic-Con. A Hall H full of fans absolutely losing their minds is sure to raise some studio eyebrows.
