Man, these snazzy interactive trailers still blow my mind. I'm getting old. Personal neuroses aside, Dishonored looks like one of the most interesting and innovative first-person games to come along in a very long time. This new trailer lets you play through an entire example mission, making a number of decisions along the way. Check it out below, but be warned, some paths lead to you getting stabbed. Getting stabbed is generally bad.

Dishonored was developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda. Arkane has had a really bumpy history in game development. Their first project, while incredibly ambitious and worth reading about, was cancelled. They then did a little work on Bioshock 2, before partnering up with Valve to develop a Half-Life spinoff. That was also cancelled. Third time's the charm I guess, and Dishonored looks like it's been worth the wait.

The game combines steampunk elements with a bit of magic and fantasy. The backstory is pretty complex and unique, and me summarizing it wouldn't do it nearly enough justice. There's no sense in spoiling it either, Dishonored is out in just a few days on October 9.

As a quick closing note, I had no idea the voice cast was so impressive, featuring the likes of Chloë Grace Moretz, Carrie Fisher, Michael Madsen, and Lena Headey. That's just one more reason to support this new IP when it's released.
