Ellen DeGeneres is in Negotiations to Join the 'Finding Nemo' Sequel

Pixar is still inching forward with their Finding Nemo followup, and it really wouldn't be the same without Ellen DeGeneres reprising her role as Dory. The actress, currently hosting TV's most popular daytime talk show, is now in talks to sign on for the sequel. It won't be much of a surprise if she does join up, considering she's been pushing for a new Nemo film for years now. The big question is, just how heavily will Dory factor into the new story?

The 2003 film is still Pixar's highest grossing to date, and Andrew Stanton and his team think they have a story that will come together in time for a proposed 2016 release. It seems a little silly to lose Nemo again, so some are thinking that the new film could ditch the father/son duo altogether, and focus entirely on the new adventures of Dory.

Obviously that's all wild, wild speculation. The film is still almost four years off, so it might be a while before we hear anything solid regarding the story. But, it's still good to know that DeGeneres has already been approached. What would you want to see from a Finding Nemo sequel/prequel/spinoff? Let us know in the comments section!
