Joss Whedon not only tackled but reigned supreme in the superhero genre with The Avengers.  Now it seems everyone wants to cash in on the success by trying their hand at comic book movies.  Filmmaker and visionary, Guillermo Del Toro is no exception.

He's set to direct a movie adaptation of Heaven Sent, a superhero team that features some of DC's supernaturally gifted characters such as Etrigan the Demon, Swamp Thing, Deadman, The Spectre, and HellBlazer, just to name a few.

There is one obstacle however.  Warner Bros is reportedly having a hell of a time getting all of the rights to the many characters for the film.

Honestly, I've never heard of any of these characters before this announcement.  But I'm a huge fan of Del Toro's work, so I'm pretty stoked about this piece of news.  Del Toro has a tendency to tackle movies of a dark nature, but I have a feeling this would be right up his alley.
