Mark Wahlberg Confirmed as Transformers 4 Star

It’s official! Mark Wahlberg will replace Shia LaBeouf as the lead in the next Transformers film.

Bay released a press release about Transformers 4 saying, “An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.”

Transformers 4, written by Ehren Kruger and executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Bay, will shoot in the spring and be released June 27th, 2014.

Michael Bay also recently worked with Wahlberg on Pain and Gain, a film which also stars The Rock. That film opens in theaters April 26th, 2013. Get ready for a whole lot of Bay and Wahlberg action on the big screen.
