OUYA Finishes Kickstarter Funding, Raises All the Money

As much as we like to make fun of the name, it's hard to deny just how successful the OUYA is; an impressive feat considering they have yet to ship a console. Still, with OnLive, Square Enix, XBMC, Vevo, Robotoki, Namco Bandai, and Plex all pledging their support, it's (hopefully) very likely that the OUYA is going to be a reality soon. The company recently finished up their Kickstarter fundraising campaign, raking in a ridiculous $8,596,475. Ohhhhyeeeaaa.

If you opted in for a developer edition of the console, you can expect those to begin arriving in December. Kickstart backers who pre-ordered the console can expect theirs sometime in March.

If you meant to contribute, but it slipped your mind, regular pre-orders should begin soon, with those consoles arriving in April.
