Sad Day: Tarantino Says 'Kill Bill Vol 3' is Probably Not Happening

It's been almost nine years since Quentin Tarantino's two-part film, Kill Bill, hit theaters. While the story wraps up pretty nicely by the end of the second movie, fans have been hopeful that a continuation might be in order. Tarantino himself kind of sort of confirmed it a few times, even going as far as to outline his plans for parts 3 and 4. Unfortunately, it looks like the director might have simply lost interest, and is now saying that a potential sequel is pretty unlikely.

According to his previous plans, Tarantino would have centered volume 3 around a pair of Crazy 88 members who fought in the climactic battle in volume 1. The fourth entry would have followed the daughters of Beatrix Kiddo and Vernita Green. Further talk had Tarantino describing two potential anime series, one about Bill's origins and one on Kiddo's.

Sadly, it now looks like none of that is going to happen. At the premiere of Django Unchained, Tarantino spoke with We Got This Covered, saying, "I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a Kill Bill Vol. 3. We’ll see, probably not though."

That sounds pretty definitive; then again, Inglorious Basterds did take forever to get made, and it was definitely worth the wait. In either case, Tarantino has mentioned that he'll be wrapping up his career in a few films, making it all the more unlikely that Kill Bill Vol. 3 will be one of those.
