'Sin City 2' Finds Its 'Dame to Kill For'
The ever-expanding Sin City: A Dame to Kill For cast list has been updated again. Less than a week after we published our casting guide for the film, it was announced today that Eva Green would be playing the titular dame, Ava Lord.
The actress, who is probably best known as the obligatory Bond Girl in Casino Royale, will be playing the dangerous femme fatale and former love of Dwight, who will be played by both Clive Owen and Josh Brolin in the film. Audiences will get a chance to see just how well Green may fit in the role after seeing her this summer in the 300 prequel, 300: Rise of an Empire. Like Sin City, those films are also based on a series of Frank Miller graphic novels.
In addition to this major piece of casting news, it has also been announced that Julia Garner, a relative unknown who has had small parts in movies like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Martha Marcy May Marlene, will play a role in the segment “The Long, Bad Night.” She will share many scenes with Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s gambler character, Johnny. Garner will be playing a stripper, which is unsurprising considering that Frank Miller likes almost all of the female characters in his gritty noir stories to be in various states of undress.
So to recap: another major role in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been cast, and our article last week may or may not have been the push the film’s producers needed to finally make that happen. That seems reasonable, right?
