New Music Monday: Jake Bugg, Paramore, The Proclaimers, and More!

Sigh, sigh, sigh, another week has arrived and with it comes a wave of new music to cleanse your dirty little ears and wash away all of that Lil' Wayne and Macklemore you listened to at the club this weekend. This week, as the industry prepares for the big summer push, we've got a much anticipated debut from a British born pop music wunderkind, a couple of strong indie-credible joints, some interesting reissues, and a few "Wait, what?" moments. So let's all squeeze into those teeny-weeny bathing suits we optimistically nabbed from the clearance rack this winter and dive in to what you'll be listening to tomorrow.

Anime Invasion - Spring Cleaning

It seems that while almost every show has come to an end for this year’s winter season, there is finally a giant flux of announcements for what will be premiering in the spring. There are plenty shows that have a great sense of originality to them, as well as some that feel like they’re building off of the popularity of another show or a certain style in general. As long as the show is good though, it should be something to look forward to.

'Arrow' Recap: Unfinished Business

Detective work on Arrow is essentially magic. Detective Lance lays out some exposition, or Felicity taps a bunch of keys at random, and hey presto, anything you need to know is right there in front of you. There’s a good reason TV detective work is like that: real detective work is tedious and difficult. So it’s understandable that when Oliver and company encounter a genuine mystery plot, they’re thrown a bit off balance. Our man Queen may sling a mean arrow, but deductive reasoning is still a learning process.

Money, What Does it Buy Again? [Guest Blog]

Some people think that with enough money, it will solve all their problems - but The Beatles have stated emphatically that money can't buy you love, it's often related that money also cannot buy happiness and it's even been pointed out that the exact opposite can happen. One thing about running a site like FilmCrave.com is that it allows me to observe so many films that prove money isn't everything.

New Music Monday: New Kids on the Block, Alkaline Trio, The Besnard Lakes, and More

The ever-loving meat grinder of the record industry keeps moving forward this week, trying as hard as it can to stay alive and churning out several new releases of varying quality and interest. From embarrassing, ill-advised comebacks, to highly anticipated indie-ternative masterworks, to warped hiphoperatic mindfucks, it's another interesting week for new music. Unlike the last few weeks, the major releases this week are all 'Merican in origin and while they may not all taste like apple pie and smell like fourth of July fireworks, it is good to have something domestic to talk about. So let's squeegee the squashed bugs off of our third eyes kiddos and gaze into the future to see what you'll be listening to next week.
