Flashback Attack: Vegas Dream

Title: Vegas Dream
Version Played: NES (1988)

Vegas Dream is sort of a weird game, even by today’s standards. Actually, especially by today’s standards. Part of what makes it so weird is the fact that it was developed by HAL Laboratories. That’s right, the guys that would go on to make Kirby, Earthbound and Super Smash Bros at one point in their past made what amounts to a gambling game.

Real Life, 23-Year-Long Game of Tag to be Turned into Film

An actual group of friends who have been playing the same game of tag for 23 years will soon see their story turned into a movie. The group, nine friends from Washington State, began the game in high school and have continued it ever since.

Flashback Attack: Super Baseball 2020

Title: Super Baseball 2020
Version Played: Super Nintendo (1993)

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been a big fan of sports games. Some of my disinterest might stem from the fact that I'm not much of an athlete. When I was younger, though, I did play baseball for quite a while and I’ve had a bit of an affinity toward the sport, video games included. Needless to say, Super Baseball 2020 caught my eye because hey it’s a baseball video game – SET IN THE FUTURE!

The Olympics Drop Wrestling for 2020 Games

The International Olympics Committee has apparently chosen to exclude Wrestling from the 2020 Olympic Games. The IOC decided to eliminate one of its original competitions in an effort to keep the games “modern.” The decision has been met with international criticism and backlashes, including a White House petition. The IOC’s decision will be finalized in March.

Shaquille O'Neal Punches Zombies in 'ShaqDown' Trailer

Yep, you read that right. Shaquille O'Neal is going to be punching zombies in the face in a new mobile game. Unfortunately, it's not the Shaq Fu sequel we've been anticipating for almost twenty years now.

Flashback Attack: Sonic Adventure

Title: Sonic Adventure
Version Played: “DX: Director’s Cut” Release for the Gamecube

At this point, I think most people probably have a good idea of what consoles I owned and played on primarily through my early teens. Yes, up until I got my first Xbox (in a radio call-in contest, no less – I know, right?) I was a pretty hardcore Nintendo fanboy. By the time I really started getting obsessed with video games, though, the Sega/Nintendo console wars were over, and so I had no animosity toward everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog.

WWE Champ Makes a Fan 'Go To Sleep'

CM Punk assaulted a WWE audience member on Raw. Definitely probably not fake. Maybe.

MMA Results: UFC on Fox 4

The UFC returned to Fox tonight for another round of free televised MMA action. The main event featured Mauricio "Shogun" Rua facing off with Brandon Vera, as well as a bout between ex-champion Lyoto Machida and TUF contestant Ryan Bader. Read on for the full results.

Olympic Gymnast Performs to the Music of Zelda

How do you make the Olympics more awesome? Throw some Zelda in there of course. Mexican gymnast Elsa Garcia Rodriguez Blancas apparently perfomed her Olympic qualification routine to the tune of The Legend of Zelda. The arrangement was put together by violinist Lindsey Stirling (perhaps best known for that dubstep violin song, Google it, it's great). You can watch the routine, and listen to the music by itself, below.
