Circuitcast Episode 20 Feels Good to be Back
Hey guys, we're back... finally! And just in time for E3! This week, we discuss a number of pre-E3 trailers that have been getting us excited (in all the right ways) for this upcoming week of gaming magnificence. Please excuse the rust, it's been a while! Music this week is provided by How to Destroy Angels. The track, "Fur Lined," can be downloaded alongside the rest of their debut album for free here. You can download the track below, or find us via iTunes. Enjoy!
E3 2010: 3 Trailers From Space!
One of the best things about E3 is a boatload of new trailers are shown whether it be an awesome new reveal trailer or our first glimpse at some new gameplay footage. Two of the trailers released today have a similar theme, they take place in space!
E3 2010: Michael Jackson Video Game
Ubisoft has just issued a press release for a new Michael Jackson game. I'm sort of in shock and awe right now...so yeah. The press have received two screens so far, one of which is above. It's definitely interesting.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Trailer
The Pre-E3 madness continues as Ubisoft hosts their press conference (currently under way as of posting). They just unveiled some new information about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Brotherhood game, along with a trailer that was floating around the web beforehand, but regardless you can find it after the jump.
Movie Gallery/VHQ Closure
Movie Gallery was once the second largest rental place in the US, behind only Blockbuster. That legacy is coming to a screeching halt, however, as Movie Gallery unveiled the closing numbers last month in the United States. Today, the effects are seen in Canada as well. But, it's a good time for deals.
Project Natal Officially Named Kinect
At the Microsoft 'Experience' event in LA, which is separate from the E3 press conference, Microsoft has officially revealed that Project Natal, the companies controller-less gaming device, will now be called 'Kinect.' To go along with the new name USA Today have also published a list of Kinect titles which will be available on launch day. The article has since been pulled from their site as it's obviously broken some street date and Microsoft isn't happy but luckily a few sites already caught it.
New Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay Trailer
Well, it hasn't officially started yet, but with the Microsoft and EA press conferences today, E3 is most definitely under way. Just to show you how under way it is, here's a new trailer for the upcoming Fallout New Vegas, which shows off some gameplay. Check it out after the jump.
Dead Space 2 Gameplay: Zero-G, Slow-mo, and Necromorphs
Yo Isaac, sick suit. Also, nice jetpack; and new-found slow-motion abilities; and guns, delicious, delicious guns. A strange soundtrack choice maybe, but check out some gameplay footage of the upcoming Dead Space 2 below anyways.
Force Unleashed II: Betrayal Cinematic Trailer
When the Force Unleashed II was announced, it was generally expected that whilst the game would hopefully improve upon its predecessor, it would be hard for the games marketing to improve upon the promise of being able to pull a Star Destroyer from the sky using the force. Now the gorgeous trailer that showed that ability actually left a lot of fans annoyed, because performing that act in-game was one of the most tedious things ever undertaken by a gamer. With the release of the Betrayal Cinematic, I think we have a trailer that's better than pulling down a Star Destroyer, and that's saying something.
XCOM's First Trailer is Nuts
Seriously nuts. X-COM is the much beloved turn-based strategy series from the 90s. This... is not that. This is a reboot; and by reboot I mean, it was a strategy game, and now it's a crazy FPS. When this was first announced, a lot of fans voiced their extreme disapproval of this decision. Luckily for those of us with fond memories of the original though, it actually looks pretty cool.
