Marvel vs Capcom Comic On The Way?

To say that the team here at the 8th was excited about the announcement of Marvel vs Capcom 3 is an understatement. We were freaking ecstatic. The announcement of the game has sent it straight to the top-end of our mental 'most anticipated lists,' meaningany and all info on the game has become priority. Information the word from Udon Entertainment about the possibility of a tie-in comic book series.

John Hillcoat Helms Red Dead Redemption Short

That's the word coming from The Futon Critic, which has a confirmed report that FOX will be airing the 30 minute short. The short is reportedly an animated venture, and will air on the 15th of May at midnight. Hillcoat is no stranger to the Western genre, directing the brilliant Nick Cave written project The Proposition. It was a masterpiece of a Western, which had a very dark and intense focus, set in the unforgiving and harsh Australian Outback. That pedigree bodes well for the Red Dead Redemption project which will certainly benefit from Hillcoat's direction.

L4D2 Passing and 33% Off

We've been posting non-stop about it and it's finally here.  The new DLC content, The Passing,  for L4D2 came out today along with a sweet 33% off until Monday.  On top of the new storyline, Valve gave us a couple new weapons and zombies.

Matt's Rantbox: GameCrush

Or: It’s Only Prostitution if you go All the Way

Some of you may have heard of this GameCrush service (hell, even Penny Arcade had something to say about it), wherein video game players can essentially pay to have attractive (often "attractive") women play video games with them. This is a service that is apparently SO POPULAR that, as I'm writing this, the site is currently down.

Mini-Review: L4D2: The Passing

Left 4 Dead 2's first bit of DLC was released earlier today, and as a huge fan, I of course immediately played through it. The main hook of "The Passing" was the idea that the original survivors of the first game (Zoey, Louis, Francis, and Bill) would meet up with the current group. While I had feared that this was merely a marketing gimmick (although in a way it is) and that the two groups would have very little interaction, I was pleasantly surprised.

This is Fun: Female Versions of Famous Heroes

Fact: Heroes look a whole lot different when they're women. It's true, just check out site The Swedish Bed, which has taken your favorite comic book and video game heroes and villains, like Magneto, The Punisher, Dr Manhattan and Sam Fisher, added a whole bunch of incredibly talented artists from their site and waited for the results. That result ended up being a brilliant showcase of your favorite characters as women and not just your average woman. No these are your true hyper sexualised and hyper curved comic book and video game women and they are brilliant.

L4D2: More "Passing" Information

New update over at the Left 4 Dead blog, concerning the forthcoming The Passing DLC, and by forthcoming, I of course mean, releases tomorrow. Yes, the blog confirms that The Passing will be hitting Xbox 360 and PC tomorrow. More importantly, though, the blog post finally announces a price.

TF2: New and Improved Item Drops

TF2's item drop system is about to get a much needed upgrade. Items are now set to drop much more frequently, and at much different rate. All of the changes have been made in an effort to put the brakes on those damn idle servers. Seriously, they're like half the servers running TF2 right now. Read some of the details about the new system below:

Captivate: Marvel vs Capcom 3

How about a hell yes? Earlier at Capcom's annual gathering, Captivate, a debut teaser was released confirming the existence of Marvel vs Capcom 3. A decade in the making, not much else is currently known about the game, other than that it will feature a very updated and hopefully expanded roster of characters. The game is currently set for a very tenative Spring 2011 release window. Check out the teaser below, im psyched, how about you?

Two More Arkham 2 Villains Leaked

In the wake of Kevin Conroy's confirmation that not only Two-Face, but multiple villains as well will be appearing in Arkham Asylum 2, further developments have pointed to who those othervillains might be. Kotaku reports on a Tweet and a podcast that dish the identities of two of the villains.
