L4D2: Worlds be Colliding
This just in, L4D2's crazy new DLC "The Passing" will be available next week. Nice. If you've forgotten, the new content will have the crew from the original L4D, minus one, meeting up with the new guys in L4D2. However, that's not the only "world colliding."
Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
The Splinter Cell franchise is one that is very near and dear to my heart. After countless hours in the wondrous world of Chaos Theory, in both Co-op and in the insanity that was the expert campaign, and even sticking through the upset of Double Agent, I still love my Sam Fisher and my Splinter Cell. I was so excited when I first heard Conviction was in production back in 2007 that I knew I had to get an Xbox 360 so I could sprawl in the new world they were creating.
Debut of Gears of War 3 Trailer
The debut trailer for Gears of War 3, which Cliff Bleszinski premiered on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, has gone live on the net. The trailer features female COGS, a Lambent which feels fine killing Locust and COGS alike and ash, ash and more ash. The trailer certainly paints the battlegrounds of the the 3rd Gears of War game as bleak.
Bat Deal: Arkham Asylum for $26.99
Amazon's back with an awesome new Gold Box deal of the day. This one's for any gamers who missed out on this awesome 2009 title. The game's price is currently being slashed by 33%, bringing it down to a very reasonable $26.99. The deal is available on both the 360 and the PS3 (sorry PC gamers), but unfortunately it ends at midnight. So if you haven't picked up a copy of this game yet, this is a great chance for Batman fans (or anyone with a console really) to check it out
Crysis 2: Official Debut Trailer
We posted the shaky-handy cam copy of a Crysis 2 trailer the other day, and speculated that the SOS New York countdown would be for an official trailer. Turns out we were right as Crytek has just unveiled the launch trailer for the highly anticipated game. The trailer, luckily, is longer than the handy came footage clocking in at 2 minutes and 11 seconds of pure awesome. It begins with the same footage we saw in the handy cam trailer and continues that scene. I previously stated that action fans wouldn't have anything to gawk at in the cam trailer, but they certainly have quite a bit to love in this one.
Crysis 2 Trailer in Times Square
There was a big event for Crytek's upcoming title Crysis 2 today in New York. People who were in Times Square were privy to a trailer from the upcoming game. Obviously I was on the other side of the world when it happened, but what I have seen is a recorded version of the trailer from someone who was lucky enough to attend.
This is Awesome: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Live Action Trailer
Ubisoft has revealed a new trailer for Future Soldier that is a live-action trailer in the same vein as the Halo 3 and ODST live action commercials. One would assume that this is the first footage from the 20 minute short film that the Oscar winning Logorama directors Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy are making for Ubisoft to promote the game, much like they did with Assassin's Creed II. To say that this footage is awesome is almost an understatement, it's god damn insane!
Exclusive: Interview with Martin Wahlund of Fatshark Studios
Fatshark Studios is a developer you may not have heard of. The studio is based in Sweden and is a bit of an underground developer, but they are sure to make waves in a weeks time when their new game Lead and Gold - Gangs of the Wild West hits digital shelves. The game is a third-person online shooter that has you playing as a member of a gang of cowboys. There are four classes to choose from on a variety of maps and game modes, like deathmatch or a few twists on old favorites, like powder keg, where an attacking team must find a series of powder kegs hidden on the map so they can blow up objectives. I contacted Executive Producer Martin Wahlund to discuss Lead and Gold, digital distribution, and amusingly enough, what their name means.
TF2 LOL: Law Abiding Engineer
This is pretty damn awesome, as well as a testament to the fervor of TF2 fans in all their crazy shenanigans. If you couldn't tell by the title, the video is an insert of the TF2 cast into the trailer of Law Abiding Citizen. Sounds stupid? It would've been if it wasn't done so damn well. If you're a TF2 fan, this is a must watch, trust me.
Exclusive: Interview with Chris Taylor on Supreme Commander 2
With the release of Gas Powered Games epic Supreme Commander 2 a few weeks ago, I got in touch with Gas Powered Games big wig Chris Taylor to talk about Supreme Commander 2 and ask him just how much more epic his games can get and what they'll be trying to bring over to their next title, Kings and Castles.
